Uranus : The 7th Rock from the Sun

Uranus - Seventh Planet of the Solar System : Uranus is about four times the size of the Earth. Uranus appears "greenish" in color because of "Methane" gas present in its atmosphere.

It was discovered by "Sir William Hersiel" in 1781. It is the seventh planet from the "Sun". 'Uranus' is also the very first planet to have been discovered by the use of a 'Telescope'.

Planet - Uranus
Uranus is the 3rd biggest planet of the Solar System. Uranus is extremely cold, having surface temperature -190°C.

Uranus is surrounded by 5 rings namely, alpha, beta, gamma, delta and epsilon. Uranus rotates from east to west on its axis, which is opposite to other planets.

The axis of Uranus has very large inclination so that it appears to be lying down, hence, it bears the name "A Planet on its Side".
